Notice of Review of District Boundary and Apportionment for the Emmons Lake Drain. The Notices will be sent today, April 8, 2025, to the residents within the District and the Day of Review will be held on April 24, 2025 from 8:30 am-4:30pm at the Drain Commissioner’s Office, 775 Ball Ave, Grand Rapids. Please review the documents for Caledonia apportionment and cost estimates.
These tentative Special Assessments will be spread over 15-years starting 2025 Winter Tax. Also included are computation of cost and tentative assessment roll which can also be found on our website: https://www.kentcountymi.gov/823/Petition-Projects-Notices along with the Letting Notice and Plan Set for Bidding.
A bond will be received for the project for the 15-year assessment. Interest will be applied to the annual cost at an estimate rate of 5.5%.
After the Day of Review, we will provide a second notice with final assessment costs and opportunity to pre-pay the assessment without interest till May 22, 2025

A public hearing will be held on March 10, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at the Village Hall located at 250 S Maple Street SE Caledonia, MI 49316 to gather public input for submittal to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Passport grant application for the “Paul Henry Trailhead” project, located at the north side of the intersection between Kinsey Street and Main Street.
Interested persons may attend the public hearing. Written comments may be addressed to Brian Bennett, Village Manager, address as noted above.
